CIHA Residents Form Non-Profit

Residents of CIHA's East Anchorage Elder campus have founded the Alaska Chapter of the National Organization "Afghans for Angels," that delivers handmade blankets, teddy bears and burial gowns to hospitals to give to parents who have suffered the loss of their infant through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.

The local chapter -- Arctic Angels -- have expanded their mission to assist families with premature infants, providing hand-made clothing for the tiny infants to wear home from the hospital.

The Arctic Angels are currently pursuing a 501c(3) status and are accepting donations of money, as well as supplies such as baby yarn, crochet needles, gift bags, tissue paper and diaper pins.

To lean more about the Arctic Angels, please call members Jean Andrade at 333-0337 or Sharon Metro at 561-8242.
