Library Update

An Expanding Library
CIHA is fortunate to have a very active volunteer library leader, Sally Bremner, a University of Alaska librarian. She, along with a few devoted residents, have worked diligently to organize a fairly expansive Kenaitze Pointe Library ... And they're moving on to Chickaloon Landing.
In September, the East Anchorage campus-wide library committee (called Cook Inlet Library Connections - CILC), finished labeling all of the books with CIHA logos and a color coding system which indicates which building library the books belong to, and now the Kenaitze Pointe library is finally open for book checkout.
Sally and her crew are moving on to other campus buildings to whip those libraries into shape as well. They are currently seeking more books and magazines to supply the library at CIHA's newest elder facility, Tyonek Terrace.
Sally will is also leading a story circle the third Thursday of each month from 3-5 p.m., September through December. September's topic was "A Taste of New Zealand." In October, CIHA’s volunteer computer leader Larry Spellens will host story circle. His topic is "The Making of Sports heroes." In November, Sally will take the lead again with "My Pet is Part of My Family."
