Dear Friends,

It was a busy summer and continues to be a busy fall at Cook Inlet Housing Authority.

In this edition of "Breaking Ground," learn about move-in day at Tyonek Terrace and about the CIHA partnership that led to affordable housing’s first ever representation on the Anchorage Parade of Homes. Also read about our involvement in and the construction progress on the new Brother Francis Shelter.

Above all else, I love sharing about our clients. In this issue, learn about the new libraries and a summer farmers' market at our elder campus, about back to school celebrations at Strawberry Village Cottages, about Kenaitze Pointe's first birthday, and about the not-for profit organization a group of our elder residents have founded.

I hope this issue of our newsletter will inform and inspire you. All of us at Cook Inlet Housing Authority are certainly inspired by the daily opportunities we have to empower our clients -- and to help them move toward independence and a better life.

Carol Gore
