Federal Home Loan Bank Appointment
Carol Gore has been appointed to serve on the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council. The council is comprised of 15 individuals actively involved in providing or promoting community development and affordable housing in the eight state region including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Alaska and Hawaii as well as the territory of Guam.
The council meets quarterly to advise the Seattle Bank’s Board of Directors on affordable housing and community development needs in our region and to identify opportunities for the Seattle’s Bank’s programs to address those needs.
The Federal Home Loan Bank is a network of 12 regional Federal Home Loan Banks chartered by the government in 1932 to ensure financial institutions have access to money to lend to consumers for home mortgages. It is government sponsored, but operates as a member-owned cooperative, private, profit-making company.
Key to Cook Inlet Housing Authority’s involvement, the Seattle Bank offers a unique, special program that gives 10 percent of its earnings each year to projects that provide affordable housing to people in need.
